The Story of the Big Ginger Sauce Co.

Based in the village of Pirbright, Surrey, the Big Ginger Sauce Company is a solo operation run by myself (Pete - aka Big Ginger).  I produce small batch, hand crafted, artisan hot sauce and chilli products, selling online as well as through selected retailers, farm shops and farmers markets.

This venture was born from an obsession with chilli, spice and bold, exciting flavours!  I've always been drawn to spicy food, and fascinated by the transformational effect that spice and heat can have on any meal.  I love experimenting with flavour and tinkering with fresh ingredients and spice blends to create multi-layered, nuanced flavours!

Several years ago I started growing my own chillies and using my knowledge of spices to craft my own sauces.  Over time I grew more and more plants and produced more and more sauce!  It quickly became way more than I could possibly consume myself, so I gave it away to friends and family and quickly started receiving rave reviews!  My recipes have slowly evolved into something I am very proud of and I am extremely excited to be bringing them to you!

​​I believe firmly in a 'flavour-first' approach to hot sauce...there are way too many one dimensional hot sauces out there which are little more than burning hot...you won't find those here!!

My goal is to produce flavours that enhance not overpower.  Each of my products use carefully balanced ingredients, aromatics and spices to create multi-layered, nuanced flavours that elevate your food!  That's not to say I don't have some heat here, I love heat, but even with the hottest of my sauces the flavours still shine through and leave you raiding the fridge for more!

I am initially launching  four of my best sauces, but I have plenty more in the pipeline to release!  I will also offer batches of special editions and some of my more experimental efforts from time to time...so keep an eye out!
